UniFlow Auxiliary Air Fume Hoods
UniFlow Auxiliary Air Fume Hoods are engineered to significantly reduce the amount of conditioned room air required for safe laboratory ventilation. By supplying auxiliary air directly into the hood system, these units help maintain proper airflow while minimizing the need to exhaust expensive, temperature-controlled room air.
When operating with the sash at a 50% open position and a face velocity of 100 FPM, the auxiliary air supply matches the exhaust volume—resulting in near-zero room air consumption. This design improves overall energy efficiency and helps reduce HVAC system load.
Unitized dual-wall construction provides superior chemical resistance, strength, and durability. The seamless interior fume chamber features a glass-smooth surface with a VaraFlow baffle system and bell-shaped exhaust collar. Meets NFPA 45 requirements with flame spread of less than 25 per ASTM E-84.
Built-in auxiliary air supply plenum delivers outside air directly into the hood, reducing reliance on conditioned room air and improving overall system efficiency.
Removable access panel allows convenient access to ducting connections and electrical services from a single point electrical box.
Full 28” viewing height with 24” interior depth and 44” working height provides easy access for apparatus setup. The sash is counterbalanced and constructed of tempered safety glass with chemical-resistant PVC framing and aerodynamic sash lift.
Continuously monitors face velocity airflow to meet ANSI and OSHA requirements.
Limits sash opening to 50% to reduce airflow requirements and improve energy efficiency.

Airflow Performance
Auxiliary Air Fume Hoods are designed to maintain efficient airflow under varying sash positions:
Sash Open: Auxiliary air enters through the supply plenum and is distributed through the sash opening, minimizing the use of room air
Sash Closed: Air is diverted through the bypass opening into the fume chamber, maintaining consistent airflow
This system ensures stable performance while reducing energy consumption and maintaining safe operating conditions.
