Airflow Monitors for Fume Hoods
Reliable Air Flow Monitors for Fume Hood Safety and Compliance
HEMCO airflow monitors continuously measure fume hood face velocity to ensure safe operating conditions within laboratory environments. These systems provide real-time monitoring with audible and visual alarms to alert users when airflow drops below safe levels.
Airflow Monitoring Systems
Airflow monitors are designed to track face velocity and pressure conditions within fume hoods. When airflow falls below a calibrated set point, the system activates alarms to notify laboratory personnel of potentially unsafe conditions.
Airflow Monitor Velocity Alarm
The HEMCO Airflow Monitor Velocity Alarm provides accurate, reliable face velocity monitoring to help ensure a safe operating environment for laboratory personnel. Designed for use on all types of fume hoods, it combines an ultra-sensitive micro-bridge airflow sensor with high-resolution digital processing for precise, repeatable measurement.
Features:
Continuous face velocity monitoring
Audible alarm with mute function
Red and green LED status indicators
Programmable alarm set point
High accuracy and repeatability
Cat. No. 51403
Analog Air Flow Monitor
The analog airflow monitor is designed for applications where airflow velocity indication is not required but safety monitoring is essential.
Features:
Visual LED indicators for airflow status
Audible alarm for low airflow conditions
Night setback function
Remote or built-in airflow sensor
Relay outputs for system integration
Cat. No. 51409
Digital Air Flow Monitor
The digital airflow monitor provides advanced monitoring with a backlit display and configurable system settings for enhanced control and diagnostics.
Features:
Displays airflow velocity or status (Air Safe / Air Fail) Audible and visual alarm system
Configurable relay outputs
Password-protected setup and calibration
Communication ports for diagnostics and system integration
Cat. No. 51410
Gauges and Monitoring Devices
Minihelic Gauge
Gauge monitors the pressure across the HEPA filter. Gauge conveniently mounts on the fume hood or on the filter housing. Measure range is from 0 to 2.0” wg. Gauge is 3” dia. accurate within 5%.
Cat. No. 51300
Digitalized Gauge
Series DH3 Gauge allows selection of pressure, velocity, or volumetric flow operation. Programming is easy using menu keys to access 5 menus which provide access to security level, selection of pressure, velocity of flow operation, and selection of engineering units. Gauge is 3” dia.
Cat. No. 51303
How It Works
Airflow monitors measure airflow by drawing a small sample of air through an internal sensor. The measured airflow is proportional to fume hood face velocity. If airflow drops below the programmed set point, the system activates an alarm, including audible alerts and visual indicators, to warn users of unsafe conditions.
Applications
Airflow monitoring systems are used in laboratories, research facilities, educational institutions, and industrial environments where maintaining safe airflow conditions is critical to protecting personnel and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
